Your view changes , consult regularly ( every year) because only an ophthalmologist is able to detect anomalies.
Take annual appointment with your eye doctor. You will find the list of ophthalmologists in the yellow pages, and a list of specialists on site SFOALC ( French Society of Ophthalmologists Adapters Contact Lenses ) .


Never change yourself the brand of your contact lenses or their characteristics.

You must observe simple and safety hygiene. And know that the main way of transmission of germs and bacteria, are your fingers!

Before handling your lenses , wash your hands thoroughly with soap and dry them with a clean towel. The most dangerous germs for your eyes are on the hands, that manipulate lenses !

Always look at your prescription to choose the product recommended by your eye doctor.

Use only the recommended maintenance product for each type of lens and carefully read the instructions for use. Don't forget, daily change of your lenses solution.

Never use tap water or mineral water or saliva to clean your lenses. Keep your equipment lenses in a clean condition and replace it regularly.

Finally, if you experience irritation , a discomfort , redness , tearing, if you notice a decrease in visual acuity , remove your lenses immediately , rinse your eyes thoroughly and decontaminate the lenses with the right product . If symptoms persist , consult your ophthalmologist.


Exposure to sunlight for a long period is dangerous for the eyes , especially at altitude or sea Between noon and 2pm , ultraviolet rays are particularly strong .

Since July 1st 1995 , a European regulation came into force throughout the European territory. It precisely defines the minimum level of protection that your sunglasses should have and the degree of filtration of visible light .

They are classified into 5 categories (0 to 4) and must bear the "CE "
  • 0 - Comfort, aesthetics
    absorbs up to 20 % of visible light
  • 1 - Solar Luminosity attenuated
    absorbs between 20 % and 57 % of visible light
  • 2 - average sun brightness
    absorbs between 57 % and 82 % of visible light
  • 3 - strong sun brightness
    absorbs between 82 % and 92 % of visible light
  • 4 - Solar Luminosity exceptional
    absorbs between 92 % and 97 % of visible light.
These lenses are not suitable for driving and for road users .


The minimum requirements are even safer as the category is high. The products that satisfies these requirements are allowed to be sold on the European market; they offer more security, safety and convenience to consumers. Note: sunglasses, whatever their category filtering , provide insufficient protection for exposure in solariums or to watch a solar eclipse .

Give attention to children and the elderly :

Children's eyes are more permeable to light than those of adults. For babies, the ultraviolet transmission is almost complete .
We must at all costs avoid gadgets goggles . The color of their glasses (often plastic ) , dilates the pupil and the retina receives a maximum of UV . A hue only protects glare , while the UV filter , UV stops .
